This expedition is an unforgettable 4 day trip which will give you the opportunity to explore the virgin jungle of the “Pilón Lajas” National Reserve, as well as “Madidi” National Park.
We will navigate the River Beni in an exclusive 10 person speedboat. This speedboat is designed especially for these types of trips in shallow water and is equipped with a 55 horsepower outboard motor.
Day 1: Departure at hrs. 2 p.m. in our 4WD vehicles to “Las Cascadas” private Eco-Lodge. The property is located 117 km from La Paz. Dinner and spend the night there.
Day 2: After breakfast at 7:30 a.m., the trip will continue for 5 hours in our vehicle 4WD towards Sapecho bridge. Here we will have a break to eat some snacks and then begin the unforgettable tour of the Beni river. During the first stage, we will boat for 5 hours viewing Mosetene communities in the jungle. Dinner and camping near the shore of the river in a Cuevani community.
Day 3: From Cuevani we will travel another 8 hours to our guest house El Nido del Aguila, located on the side of the Charque mountain. After dinner we will embark on a magical night expedition to watch nocturnal animals in their natural habitat.
Day 4: Early in the morning we will go on a hike to observe the famous Parabas, a species of bird that licks salt off the ground (salitral). Later we will return to the camp to have breakfast and prepare ourselves for the next activity. We will trek through the jungle for approximately 4 to 5 hours. After lunch, we’ll travel by boat to Rurrenabaque, a 1 and a half hour trip, where we will have the opportunity to visit some of the Mosetene communities. We’ll arrive in Rurrenabaque between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and spend the night there.
Day 5 – Opcional: You have two options to return to La Paz:
- By plane from Rurrenabaque to La Paz
- Ride back in one of our 4WD’s which are all equipped with roll bars and race suspensions for added security. The ride lasts approximately 14 – 18 hours. We will rest for lunch at our Eco Lodge ¨Las Cascadas”
