On day one of this trip we visit one of Latin America’s most impressive botanical gardens, where you can enjoy a tour through the grounds, or simply take it all in at your own pace. As well as an impressive collection of plants native to the region, witness Mexico’s most complete orchid collection and exoctic plants from around the world. There is also time to take a dip in the river or enjoy a hike along one of the forest trails. If you are interested in bird-life, don’t forget your binoculars!
After lunch at the botanical gardens we continue to the quaint town of El Tuito. Founded in the 16th Century, this relaxed town boasts a pretty plaza and plenty of history, as well as a community art gallery displaying diverse and unique pieces from local artists. From here we begin the descent to Mayto beach, to enjoy a relaxing evening at the Hotel Mayto, and a visit to Mayto sea turtle conservation project.
The second day of this trip gives you some relaxation time in the morning and lunch in the nearby fishing village of Tehuamixtle.
