We invite you to take a delightful walk to the largest in Europe, the legendary film studio "Mosfilm". This is the only film studio in Russia that meets the world standards of modern cinema and carries out a full cycle of filmmaking from script writing, selection of actors, erection of scenery to final editing and sound recording of the footage. For almost a century of history, more than 2500 films have been shot at the Mosfilm film studio!
Today, on forty hectares of the wonderful Moscow "dream factory", there are a dozen operating filming pavilions, an unusual museum of the Mosfilm Cinema Concern with an amazing collection of "movie stars" - retro cars, the most ambitious decoration of an ancient city, natural grounds, a wonderful apple orchard with amazing sculptures, picturesque cascading ponds (where water battles were filmed), cafes. And this mysterious world of cinema behind the scenes is yours today!
Our fascinating journey into the world of cinema will begin with a visit to an exclusive, rarest collection of retro cars (from Stirlitz's Mercedes-Benz from Seventeen Moments of Spring and Rolls-Royce from The Elusive Avengers to the bike on which Lenin rode), carriages, landau. Each car, motorcycle, carriage has its own cinematic story. Amazing, atmospheric place! By the way, many of the exhibits in this wonderful collection are still filmed in modern films.
You will see what the shooting pavilion and the natural site look like, walk along the corridors of the Main Building with stands of unique shooting equipment and original sketches for films, admire luxurious costumes (many of them were embroidered with pearls and gold threads in monasteries, and weigh about 20 kg!), exclusive masks of actors for making plastic makeup, wigs, props for horror films and a variety of decorations for real films.
Especially for us, the masters of the dressing room have created a movable exposition to one of the first Soviet horror films "Viy", which will "horrify you"! The mock-up room will reveal the secret of the transformation of an ordinary chicken into a giant "Ryaba Chicken" from the film of the same name by Konchalovsky, and here you will also find out what size the plane from the first Soviet disaster film "Crew" actually was.
