Historically, the city's most popular recreation area, and now the entry point to the ecological reserve.
The Costanera Sur, or southern riverside was one of the most popular places to relax in the city in the first half of the 20th century. People would bathe in the river, and there were numerous restaurants and bars, such as the legendary Cervecería Munich, which now houses the Museo del Humor. Today the area has recovered some of its former splendour thanks to the development of Puerto Madero and the creation of the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, which has again made the area one of the most popular for walking, cycling and family days out.
