After touching down and getting settled, the adventure begins in Buenos Aires with an engaging private tour of the Argentinian capital’s landmarks and neighborhoods (Plaza de Mayo, La Boca, and La Recoleta, to name just a few) and a journey underground to explore the recently unearthed passageways beneath trendy San Telmo. Next, we head south to Tierra del Fuego and Ushuaia, where the real action begins. From the world’s southernmost city, you’ll slip into the Beagle Channel for a private cruise to see seals, penguins, cormorants, and other seabirds. You’ll want to fuel up on a hearty breakfast for the next day’s adventure: a full day of trekking and canoeing through the glorious confines of Tierra del Fuego National Park with a private guide. A short flight to the west brings you to El Calafate, gateway to Los Glaciares National Park where you’ll depart by catamaran from a remote estancia to witness the might Upsala Glacier up close. Later, explore the southern edge of the Perito Moreno Glacier on a guided hike to Los Glaciares’ peaceful giant before heading to rugged El Chaltén, Argentina’s unofficial trekking capital, for a pair of private full-day hikes, first along the gorgeous Laguna Torre trail to Cerro Torre, and later following the Rio Blanco to Laguna de los Tres to take in the awesome sight of Mount Fitz Roy in the distance. The adventure wraps up back in Buenos Aires, where you’ll have the option to explore San Telmo’s funky bohemian market before settling in for the most Argentinian send-off possible: dinner and a spectacular dance performance at Rojo Tango.
